Miller Snyder, Myers Park: Kicker boomed punts that gave Garinger bad field position all night and scored six of his team's 10 points in a 10-8 win, including a 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that was the difference.

Two men serving as head coaches of their teams for the first time tangled Friday night at Myers Park in their season-openers. New Mustangs coach Greg Taylor saw his Myers Park team hang on for his first win against a stubborn Garinger team 10-8.
